| Biography: |
Derek signed with Idaho in 2006 but grayshirted the 2006 season. He enrolled in January last year and redshirted the 2007 season. Derek had an outstanding redshirt year, adding 15 solid pounds to his frame and lifting 600-pounds in the squat during "Night of Champions".
For his work last year, he was honored as the Scout Team Defensive Player of the Year, and he will be expected to earn playing time in 2008.
