| Biography: |
Another 3-star recruit signed by Coach Robb Akey last spring, prolific tailback Corey White was ranked by Scout.com last year as the No. 58 runningback prospect in the country. He was also considered one of the top WAC signees last spring. The touted back redshirted last season as Idaho fielded a deep runningback rotation during the 2007 season, led by 2nd Team All-WAC selection, freshman Deonte Jackson.
So far this spring Corey has earned significant reps with the No. 1 offensive unit and is anticipated to earn significant playing time in 2008.
HIGH SCHOOL
For his career at Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) White gained 2,875 career rushing yards on 351 carries, and scored 28 career touchdowns. As a senior, he carried the ball 191 times for 1,314 yards (12 TDs, 6.87 yards per carry). As a junior, sharing the backfield with one of the top runningback recruits in the country in 2005 [DeMarco Murray, Heisman vote getter at Oklahoma this year], he recorded an impressive 865 yards on 68 carries (10 TDs, 12.7 yards per carry) that season. With good strength while running in the low 4.5s and a solid redshirt year under his belt, we expect White to begin making an impact this spring and fall.
