Biography:
CAREER HONORS
- Scout Team POY, Offense (2007)

Kevin signed with Idaho as a JC transfer tightend last year and joined the Vandals for fall camp. Because of depth issues across the Vandal defensive front, before the season started Kevin was given a look at defensive tackle and defensive end. He worked on the defensive line during fall drills, then moved back to tightend and redshirted the 2007. Had an exceptional redshirt year, earning Scout Team Player of the Year on offense.

Kevin is expected to be a key contributor in 2008, and this spring has already moved up the depth chart on what should be an improved tightend rotation for the Vandals.

BEFORE IDAHO
A two-way starter in high school (tightend and linebacker), Kevin graduated from Escondido High School in 2005. Was named an All-League selection in football (First Team) and basketball (Second Team). In the summer of 2005 Small caught a touchdown pass in the Spanos Classic (the San Diego County all-star game). Rivals.com ranked Small the #75 prospect overall in the state of California as a tightend for the 2005 class, and the No. 28 tightend in the NATION. Kevin was a Second Team All-CIF (TE) selection as a senior.

Small played college football as a tightend at Palomar College in 2005 and 2006 before signing with the Vandals this year. At Palomar Smith was a two-sport athlete, playing both football and basketball for the Comets.
