Vicente Rico joined the Vandals in 2006 out of Hartnell College and redshirted the '06 season at Idaho. A strong-legged kicker, Vicente owned the kickoff specialist position throughout the 2007 season. Going into the season finale in '07 against Utah State Rico had recorded a solid 16 touchbacks in 44 kickoffs, was averaging 66.8 yards per kickoff, and had NONE of his kicks go out of bounds. Against the blue Aggies on Saturday Rico had two kickoffs, and averaged 64.0 yards per boot.
Vicente is one of three senior kickers that should make the Idaho special teams units one of the best in the WAC in 2008. Joining Rico are seniors T.J. Conley (punter) and Tino Amancio (field goals).
