HIGH SCHOOL
As a senior at Snohomish High School (WA), Washburn earned an extensive list of honors and awards. Chief among them he was named a Class 4A AP All-State First Team selection as an offensive lineman, and was invited to play in the East-West All Star game pitting the state's top seniors against each other. He was named to the Seattle Times All-Area Team, and was named a First-Team All-WesCo North selection. As stated in the Seattle Times: "Washburn was a driving force for a Panthers team that rushed for 2,770 yards and averaged 35.7 points. 'He was by far the best lineman in the WesCo North this year,' said Snohomish coach Mark Perry. 'He's got great feet and mobility and great blocking ability.'" |
