On Wednesday, February 3rd, the University of Idaho announced six new players for their 2010 class. We are grateful to Head Coach, Pete Showler, for the time to discuss his latest recruiting class, Idaho's facilities, and the Vandal women's soccer program.

Coach Showler was hired in 2005 with one recruiting class already committed to the program, a 1-year old weight room, and a yet-to-be-completed SprinTurf practice field. Facilities are not everything in college recruiting, but facilities play a major role in recruiting and Pete Showler credits Idaho's new facilities and improvements to existing facilities as helpful in landing good players and good students for his Vandal squad. The level of talent for Idaho continues to improve, as the team went 9-10 in 2009 - a large improvement from the 8 total wins in the previous 4 seasons - where at least 4 true freshmen contributed to that success in the 2009 season. Idaho new soccer recruits are

Chelsie Breen (Cheney, Wash./Cheney HS)

Mary Condon (Spokane, Wash./Gonzaga Prep)

Kelsey Corney (Bend, Ore./Bend HS)

Breanna Wilson (Bend, Ore./Summit HS)

Nitalia Zuniga (Ventura, Calif./Buena HS)

Christina Boddie (Port Orchard, Wash./South Kitsap HS), invitee

Here subscribers may watch Pete Showler discuss the latest recruiting class and number of facets of idaho's women's soccer program.
