Idaho jumped out to a 42-13 lead with 12:48 left in the third quarter, then cruised to a 42-27 victory over in-state rival Idaho State University. The Vandals scored on an electrifying 77-yard TD strike on the first play from scrimmage when QB Nate Enderle hit WR Maurice Shaw deep, ERIC HUNTER recovered his own blocked punt in the endzone, and Vandal tailbacks gained 249-yards in the game.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Unfortunately, we were unable to capture possibly the most electrifying play of the game, when sophomore quarterback Nathan Enderle connected with sophomore split end Maurice Shaw for a 77-yard scoring strike on the first play of the game. Nobody in the stands, and few in the entire stadium expected the scoring strike on the first play from scrimmage. ISU's cornerback bit on a play action fake, and Shaw was 10-yards behind the cornerback before he knew what happened. For the game, Shaw finished with 99 yards on three receptions and a touchdown.

Quarterback Enderle didn't have the most dazzling stats (in part because he only attempted a couple passes in the second half as Idaho turned to the running game and it's stable of tailbacks), but he made good decisions in the game, threw two first half touchdowns, and NO interceptions despite being sacked four times.

Defensively, Idaho picked off four Bengal passes and avoided giving up any big, tempo-changing plays in the game.
