Second Half Gallery: Idaho vs. OSU

Despite a brutal showing by the Idaho offense in the first half (Idaho was unable to run or pass) and 4 Idaho turnovers, the defense limited OSU to just 17 points. In the second half Idaho's D yielded 21 more points, and the offense never scored. Junior quarterback BRIAN NOOY stepped in part way through the second quarter, but still could not lead Idaho to the endzone.

NOTE: This photo gallery is heavily weighted towards the defense, primarily because the defensive unit put up such a fantastic effort against Oregon State Saturday night despite SIX Idaho turnovers (4 interceptions and two fumbles), and routinely battling with their backs against the wall. Bad games happen (as evidenced by the Idaho O Saturday night), but the defense came into this one focused and ready to play.

Joartis Ratti
Much anticipated middle linebacker recruit Joartis Ratti is continued to see more time this week (made his debut last Saturday) and Saturday recorded the team's only sack (an 8 yard loss) while forcing a fumble on the same play which Idaho recovered. He's a physical athlete and that intensity is beginning to show already.

Brian Nooy
Junior quarterback Brian Nooy saw the most action of this season against the Beavers when he went in for starter Steve Wichman mid-way through the third quarter. Nooy completed four passes for 88 yards with a long of 46 yards. He lost another big gainer when the receiver was stripped on a tackle.

Stanley Franks
Senior cornerback Stanley Franks had another outstanding night with six tackles (five solo) and hauled in his third interception on the season which he returned 15 yards in the first half.

Brandon Ogletree
Junior outside linebacker Brandon Ogletree made his first start of the season and finished tied with three other Vandals for second in tackles with six on the game. Ogletree also broke up a pass.

Adam Juratovac
Redshirt freshman right guard Adam Juratovac started this week and rotated in extensively with junior Marcis Fennell throughout the game.

Shiloh Keo
True freshman starting strong safety Shiloh Keo continues to improve and adapt to the speed and intensity of Division 1 football, and this week finished with four tackles and one pass breakup.

Jaron Williams
Senior middle linebacker Jaron Williams helped lead a stoic defensive attack on Oregon State. He finished with 2 tackles including 1 tackle for loss.

Chris Smith
Junior free safety Chris Smith saw the most time of his career since joining the Vandals this fall as a JUCO transfer. Smith finished the game tied for second on the team with 6 tackles and recovered a fumble.

Below is an example of how bizarre the night was for the Idaho offense. In this series, the ball bounces off an offensive lineman's foot (second image down), bounces up in the air, and is recovered by OSU deep in Idaho territory as an interception.
