Idaho had some outstanding moments in their near-upset of Louisiana Tech in The Dome. Among the highlights was senior Herb Cash (#2 in photo) scooping up a blocked field goal at the Idaho 20-yard line and returning 80 yards to the house. This may be the first time Idaho has ever returned a blocked field goal for a score, and was an appropriate way for the senior starting cornerback to leave his stamp on the Idaho program.

GAME SUMMARY: Idaho vs. Louisiana Tech

Junior kicker
Mike Barrow
had one of the best kicking games in the history of Idaho football. He set the all-time record for number of field goals completed in a single-season (16), tied the record for most completions in a game (5), and kicked the fourth longest field goal in school history (53). His punting was also impressive, as he currently holds a 44.1 yard average (currently third all-time if he maintains his current pace), and has pinned opponents inside their 20-yardline nine times this season. His longest punt of the year is 77-yards (UI record 82-yards set by Phil "Flip" Kleffner in 1953).

Junior wide receiver
Matt Askew
recorded his first TD of the season Saturday, scoring in the second half against Louisiana Tech. He finished with 63 yards on the night on 3 receptions, and currently has 298 yards on 24 receptions in eight games played this season.

Junior linebacker
Robert Davis
earned significant playing time Saturday, and finished with 5 tackles (tied for fourth) and two QB hurries.

Idaho's offensive line played well Saturday, led by redshirt freshman center
Adam Korby
(72), left guard
Jade Tadvick
(50), left tackle
Nate VanderPol
(68), and right tackle
Hank Therien
(77). Rotating in and seeing significant playing time were guards
John Neddo
and
Kristopher Anderson
, and tackle
Desmond Clark
. The line paved the way for almost 450 yards of offense, and yielded just one sack on the afternoon.

Sophomore linebacker
David Vobora
(40), battling here against one of Tech's massive offensive lineman as teammates wrap-up the runningback, finished Saturday's game tied at #2 on the team with seven tackles against the Bulldogs, including one tackle for loss and a forced fumble. Vobora has played in all nine games, splitting starting duties with senior Mike Anderson, and currently Vobora is fifth on the team with 42 tackles, five tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Sophomore runningback
Rolly Lumbala
gained 34 yards on 10 carries Saturday before sustaining an injury that kept him out most of the second half. His status for Saturday's game at Boise State is unknown.

Junior tightend
Keith Greer
has played in seven games this season as Idaho's starting H-back, a position that utilizes Greer's strengths at fullback and tightend.
