New Vandal Football Locker Room Tour

The NEW Vandal football locker room is one facility upgrade that has been discussed for several years. The new facility is quickly becoming a reality, and inside are a set of pictures taken during Homecoming weekend showing off Idaho's latest improvement.

For decades Idaho had fallen farther and farther behind in the "arms race" to upgrade its athletic facilities. Even with its return to Division 1 football competition in 1996, Idaho did virtually nothing to improve its aging facilities.

Until now.

Projects undertaken roughly 5 years ago are now being completed at an impressive clip. The Iverson Strength and Speed Center opened this past spring, which includes a state-of-the-art weight lifting facility and integrates the school's gorgeous setting into its work-out atmosphere.

The University of Idaho also is putting the finishing touches on it's HydroWorx Hydro-Therapy Pool, another state-of-the-art tool which will help Vandal athletes train more effectively than ever before.

And now, below, we take a glimpse at the NEW Vandal football locker room nearing completion. There are a number of photos in this tour, so please be patient as they load.

Also, PLEASE NOTE, we're taking a bit of an early tour here, given the lighting is not yet fully installed, construction continues on one wall, and none of the walls are decorated with Vandal football images. But the progress made so far is impressive enough for a quick glimpse right now.

At the very bottom, in the last photo, is a look at the former locker room which served Idaho football for over 20 years.

The team has not yet moved into the locker room, and likely won't before the end of the season. But it will be ready for spring ball, and a welcome sight for everyone involved in this significant upgrade.
