WITH THE 2012 SEASON AROUND THE CORNER AND MUCH OF THE DEPTH CHART GETTING SETTLED, the Vandals announced that junior quarterback DOMINIQUE BLACKMAN will be directing a completely rebuilt Vandal offense in the season opener against Eastern Washington in the Kibbie Dome (August 30th, 6:00PM PST kickoff). PLUS: We look back at several Vandals who earned preseason honors this summer.

Justin Veltung
has averaged 9.3 yards per rush, 16.0 yards per reception, 16.8 yards per punt return, and 22.9 yards per kick return in his career.

Senior punter
Bobby Cowan
has had a spectacular career at UI, including earning All-American honors by the Football Writers Association of America for his efforts in 2011 (finished second in the nation with 46.41 yards per punt). One of just 25 punters in the nation to be named to the Ray Guy Award Watch List for 2012, he takes aim at the UI record books.
