Upland (Calif.) defensive end Joe Mathis is well into the recruiting process, as he already holds fourteen offers in addition to interest from another number of schools.
Though he's open to all options, there are a few programs that Mathis is looking further into, including USC (he recently attended Junior Day, where he picked up his Trojans' offer), Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and Nebraska.
In addition to these schools, Mathis also holds offers from Michigan, Oregon State, Arizona State, Colorado, Indiana, San Diego State, UCLA, Utah, Washington, and Washington State, and says he's interested in both LSU and Alabama.
Mathis lists academics, namely a good business program, as something to look for. On the athletics side, a good weight training program with "intensity" is something he's hoping for.
Over the next few months, he'll be attending Nebraska's spring game and taking a visit down to the state of Oklahoma. He'll likely also attend Junior Days at both Washington and San Diego State.
Mathis spent his Friday at the Polynesian All-American Underclassmen Classic in Norwalk, California, where he proved that he's one of the West Coast's most aggressive players.
